This is something I have to say to myself when I notice those negative thoughts start to creep in, because I know they can only breed more negativity, and ultimately, won't give me the life I crave.
Do you know someone who drains your energy every time you're around them? No matter the situation they always seem to focus on what's going wrong, even if there are a lot of things going right. They're always complaining, and negativity seems to rule their life, which in turn affects how they present to the world around them. They appear disgruntled, closed off, and unhappy, which directly affects how others interact with them--often perpetuating a cycle of more negativity in their life. As you're reading this, there's probably someone who comes to mind, or maybe you're thinking, Oh shoot, that sounds a little like me…
Let's talk about sugar.
Believe it or not, both Dr Kaip and myself have a major sweet tooth! Ironic, isn't it? Even dentists aren't immune to the temptation of sugar and sweet treats because, well, as humans we're hard wired to go crazy for it. So don't be too hard on yourself if you go for that extra slice of pecan pie this holiday season--we're all in the same boat here.
We've all heard the insult "mouth breather" before.
It's most often used to knock someone down a peg, but what most don't know is that anyone can be a "mouth breather" if there is an obstruction to the nasal airway.
If untreated, breathing through the oral cavity can cause a myriad of other health issues so there's a reason why it has such a bad rap. Who knew that something as simple as breathing could affect our health in such a dramatic way?
Abnormal breathing is the technical term for breathing through the mouth, and it is typically quicker and more shallow than--you guessed it--normal breathing.
Fun fact:
Did you know that our teeth turn yellow because stain molecules get trapped within the microstructures of the teeth themselves?
Okay, maybe it's not that "fun" of a fact--but it's certainly interesting!
We all want a sparkling white smile, however, the process of attaining one can be frustrating to say the least…
That's where we come in.
As a premier provider for KOR Whitening, our job is to help make that process as seamless and effective as possible!
Let's be real--braces aren't the most aesthetically pleasing, nor do they go with anyone's outfit.
Thankfully, there's Clear Aligner Therapy.
Never heard of her?
Allow me to introduce you!
Could the quality of your sleep be affecting your oral health?
We've all heard of grinding your teeth while sleeping, or what's referred to in the dental world as Bruxism, but did you know that Bruxism has been linked to sleep apnea?
That's right.
If you struggle with grinding your teeth at night, it's a possibility that you might also have sleep apnea.
