Let’s be real--braces aren’t the most aesthetically pleasing, nor do they go with anyone’s outfit.

Thankfully, there’s Clear Aligner Therapy.

Never heard of her?

Allow me to introduce you!

Clear Aligner Therapy is an orthodontic treatment that is used to realign crooked teeth and fix a myriad of other problems--only without all that clunky metal.

It’s a great alternative for braces that uses custom clear plastic trays called invisible aligners to fix...

  • Crowded Teeth — when the teeth overlap
  • Overbites — when the upper front teeth overlap with the lower front teeth
  • Underbites — when the lower front teeth overlap with the upper front teeth
  • Diastema — when there are small or large gaps between the teeth
  • Open Bites — when the front upper and lower teeth slant outward and do not touch when the mouth is shut. This is a very rare type of malocclusion.
  • Misaligned Primary (Baby) Teeth — clear aligners can be used during phase I orthodontic treatment to make room for existing baby teeth and developing permanent teeth. Children between 6 and 10 years of age are candidates for this treatment.

Now that you’ve been properly introduced, here’s what to expect if you’re considering treatment...

  1. Our front desk would set up an appointment for a consultation with Dr. D’Ambrosia where she would examine your teeth and take a 3D digital scan and photos of your entire mouth. She will use this diagnostic information to create a treatment plan that is perfectly tailored for you and your smile. This will produce a 3D representation of the whole process from start to finish so you can see what your smile will look like by the end of your clear aligner treatment.
  2. The digital models of your teeth will be sent to a production facility where the clear aligner trays are made--this is where all the magic happens. Once the aligner trays have been made they’re sent directly to us, and we will schedule a time for you to come in and get them fitted.
  3. You will change your aligners out every 1-2 weeks, and should wear each aligner for 22 hours per day--even for mild cases of malalignment. You’ll see that the aligners will slowly move your teeth into alignment over a course of 6-24 months, possibly longer, depending on your specific treatment plan.
  4. Once your treatment is finished, a custom clear retainer will be made from a mold of your newly aligned teeth! To prevent your teeth from moving over time, you’ll want to wear your retainer every night while sleeping.

It’s as simple as that.

One of the best features of clear aligner therapy is its convenience AND the fact that no one can tell that there’s anything on your teeth at all.

If you’re an adult who doesn’t want to be transported back to the awkwardness of their teen years by getting braces--clear aligner therapy just might be the solution you’re looking for!

Call us if you’d like to book a consultation or are interested in learning more, or feel free to share this on social media if you think someone would benefit from this type of treatment.

We’d love to get you smiling again!
